Here are the answers to some questions you may be asking...but remember, if there is anything we have not covered here, we are always happy to hear from you.
Q. Is the meat organic?
A. No, it is not organic as many of the farms we deal with are too small to go through the organic certification process. However the animals are all free range.
Q. Is the meat from rare or native breed animals?
A. Sometimes. We find that many older breeds provide tastier meat than the more “productive” industry standard animals. We will always specify the breed so that you know exactly what you are eating.
Q. How can we be sure that the animals have high welfare standards?
A. We go and see all our farm suppliers regularly to ensure that we are happy with how the animals are looked after.
Q. How and where are the animals butchered?
A. To minimise distress to the animal we always ensure they are slaughtered as close to the farms they are reared on as possible. We use three renowned family butchers in East Anglia.
